Quality education depends on quality teachers

The Independent Schools Council of Australia (ISCA) has today welcomed the release of the report of the Teacher Education Ministerial Advisory Group (TEMAG) into teacher education in Australia, and the Australian Government’s response to the report.

According to ISCA Executive Director, Mr Bill Daniels, “High quality teaching is an essential part of ensuring quality educational outcomes for all Australian school students. The TEMAG report, and the Government’s response, is a good start to strengthening the teaching profession by ensuring all teacher graduates have the necessary skills for the classroom”.

“Teachers are the core of every school and Independent school communities dedicate considerable resources to supporting the ongoing learning and professional development of teachers,” he said.
