Independent Schools Welcome New Board Chair

The Board of the Independent Schools Council of Australia (ISCA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Steven Bowers as its new Chair.
Mr Bowers is Principal of Burgmann Anglican School in Canberra. He takes on the role as ISCA Chair following five years of service as an ISCA Board Member. Among other associations, he is a Fellow of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL) and a member of the Association of Heads of Independent Schools Australia (AHISA).
Mr Bowers today said that, “Independent schools make a very significant contribution to the Australian education landscape. They represent a wonderful diversity of school communities, and I look forward to representing the sector at a national level.”
ISCA Executive Director Ms Colette Colman said that, “On behalf of ISCA I am delighted to welcome Mr Bowers. His wide ranging experience in education and leadership will make him an invaluable asset as we continue to represent the Independent school sector.”
Ms Colman went on to say that, “I would also like to thank outgoing ISCA Board Chair Mr Warwick Dean for his leadership, dedication and contribution during his time in the role and wish him all the best for the future.”
