ISCA welcomes announcement of National School Resourcing Board

The Independent Schools Council of Australia (ISCA) welcomed the announcement today of the membership of the National School Resourcing Board. The Board represents an important new development in school education in Australia.

ISCA Executive Director Colette Colman said, “We wish Dr Michael Chaney AO, and all the members of the Board, the best in their work ahead, including in their first task of undertaking a review of the SES score methodology”.

Ms Colman went on to say that, “In particular, we congratulate Mr Bill Daniels AM on his appointment to the Board. He is a highly appropriate candidate who will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role following his distinguished career with ISCA and the Australian Public Service.”

Mr Daniels has been instrumental in helping shape the national education agenda. He was Executive Director of ISCA from 2001 to 2015. Prior to that he that worked for many years in the Australian Government Department of Education where he was head of the Schools Division from 1994 to 1998 and the Student Assistance and Indigenous Programs Division from 1990 to 1994.

In 2016 Mr Daniels was recognised in the Queen’s Birthday honours list for significant service to education as an advocate for the Independent school sector, and to public administration.

Ms Colman added that, “ISCA looks forward to the contribution of the National School Resourcing Board to school funding into the future.”
