We can all remember a teacher who inspired us, or helped us navigate through a difficult situation in our lives.
The Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) is marking World Teachers’ Day today, and Independent Schools Australia extends an invitation for everyone to join us and celebrate the value teachers to bring to the community every day.
Independent schools employ more than 58,000 full-time-equivalent teachers, which is 19 per cent of all teachers in Australia,
Independent Schools Australia (ISA) CEO Mr Graham Catt said, “Today is about us sharing the messages of the positive impact teachers have made in our lives.
“Teachers play a crucial role in developing citizens who are engaged with the world and have the skills to navigate life and contribute to the society in meaningful ways.”
Alongside AITSL, ISA encourages everyone to take a “hats off” selfie and share their message of appreciation on social media using the hashtag #WorldTeachersDay2023 and tagging @aitsl.
Be part of the campaign by going to www.worldteachersday.edu.au or AITSL’s social media channels and post your “hats off’ message today.
ISA is the national peak body representing 1,209 Independent schools with 688,638 enrolled students (full time equivalent), accounting for approximately 17 per cent of Australian school enrolments and a workforce of 115,090 people.
