This report includes figures for Consumer Price Index, Wage Price Index, Producer Price Index (December 2021 quarter), Unemployment rates, Consumer Confidence Index (February 2022) and the latest figures from ABS’s Schools Australia 2021 release.

School Choice: A Research Report 2021

The School Choice Report is based on an online survey of almost 2,000 parents of Independent, Catholic and government school parents from across Australia. It provides information on what parents want from education and look for in a school, and gives us a greater understanding about the information parents use to make decisions on schooling, what influences school choice, and for the first time, the impact COVID-19 has had on parents’ perceptions of schools.

Independent Schools Australia (ISA) regularly undertakes in-depth analysis of school enrolment trends and projections. Combining the most up to date Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) enrolment figures with other data sources allows us to present historical, current and future student enrolment trends across the three school sectors (Independent, Catholic and government) at a national and state or territory level.

An in-depth ISCA report providing analysis of the available ABS 2016 Population & Housing Census statistics, exploring the key demographics of the Australian school age population. This report presents a broad-brush profile of students attending schools across the three school sectors, highlighting any differences among them, and contrasting these profiles with the Australian population in general. Where relevant and possible, the student population in the Independent sector is further investigated, by drilling down into the data based on the available Census variables.
