The annual event was hosted by Independent school peak bodies Independent Schools Australia (ISA) and the Australian Heads of Independent Schools Australia (AHISA).

ISA Chief Executive Officer, Ms Margery Evans presented the 2022 Snapshot of Independent schools with the latest facts and figures.

“One of the standout statistics is the growth in enrolment numbers.

“The number of enrolments in 2021 increased by 3.1 per cent.

‘More than 600,000 students were enrolled in Independent schools last year,” Ms Evans said.

The one-day Independent schools National Education Forum 2022 examined the ‘Health of our Nation’ and featured presentations from education specialists, national political leaders and other thought leaders.

Presenters included the Education Minister, Shadow Minister and several experts in the field of education. Delegates learned about the latest research in student wellbeing, cyber safety for children and good governance for school boards.

The event brought together principals, board members and other representatives from national, state and territory Independent school organisations.

“It is the first time since the pandemic started that we could have so many representatives of the Independent school sector in the same place at the same time.

“The forum has been a great success,” Ms Evans said.
